As we age, our bodies bec
ome slower, tighter, and we are more prone to accidents and falls. Best Boomers was created for adults ages 45 and older who would like to learn to move and stretch their bodies with low-impact exercises shown to enhance mobility and help to prevent injury. This class focuses on flexibility and strength building exercises to keep your body moving throughout your daily life. No previous gymnastics experience is needed as this class will not use gymnastics apparatus other than the floor exercise mat and some exercise items.
For ages 45 – 59, we will focus on developing core muscles since all body movement originates with these muscles. Both upper and lower body routines will be taught along with a focus on proper nutrition.
For ages 60 – 69, we will continue focusing on developing core muscle
strength but with an added emphasis on keeping leg muscles toned and fit by using slow moving routines instead of “herky-jerky” movements. Proper nutrition will also be discussed.
For ages 70 and older, we focus on the hip flexor muscles since these must be maintained in order to prevent falls whic
h are the number one cause of hip fractures among this age group. Low-impact, slow moving routines will be the order of the day for this age group.
